Repeats: unfolded for MIDI, volta for paper

Hi,
is it possible for lilypond to create unfolded repeats for MIDI output but
volta repeats for the paper output from the same file?
I mean something like this in the source file:

  if MIDI output
     \repeat "unfold" ...
     \alternative ...
     
  if paper output
     \repeat "volta" ....
     \alternative ....
     
I hope you understand what I mean.
