Well, I'd give Google a higher score for relevancy (ie. it is more
likely to put relevant things near the top of the list), but AltaVista is
more likely to get everything (ie. Google hasn't indexed as many things yet).
Or that was my impression a few months ago. This may change, as Google grows.
Also, the Caching feature of Google is nice :).
