Well, Scheme's definition is only about 75 pages long, so you could
read the whole thing in an evening :>  It's also available on-line as
info or web pages.  Of course, that's not to say that you'd
necessarily understand it that quickly unless you're familiar with
lispish languages, but it's still not that big an undertaking.

No problem, but If you change your mind and decide you're interested,
I'd be more than happy to answer questions.

As an aside, I've fixed the Guile leakage problems.  Expect much more
solid scripting shortly after CVS is back up.
