Does 'updatedb' run nightly on your machine? Try 'locate a.b' -- I wonder if a.b
got written to some other directory, e.g. into $(HOME)/.gnucash

edit it and look for the string "LCK" and/or "LNK" and/or "a.b"
Are these really absent?
