Hi folks.

Well, I recently succeeded in getting the gnome version of gnucash
compiled and working. Excellent! Come a long way since last time I
checked.

Now I've got a couple questions and an observation.

First, I did the default ./configure and later a make install which
installed things under /usr/local/. Problem: when I attempt to run
things which depend on eperl, /usr/local/lib/gnucash isn't in any of
the paths in @INC. I notice /usr/lib/gnucash IS in the path, so it
seems /usr/local/lib/gnucash should be as well.

Another thing related to eperl: gnucash appears to be hardcoded to
looking for eperl in /usr/bin. Shouldn't we just be using the user's
path to search for it?

Next, the accounts screen. When I create a toplevel account, I'm
expecting to put something in like my bank name. ie, 'BankBoston',
and then beneath it put my checking and savings accounts. The account
'BankBoston' shouldn't really have any monetary value. (Though maybe
it should be the balance of underlying accounts.) This is how my
logic sees it, anyways. Is what I'm expecting different than usual?

Anyways, things are looking great. And I look forward to helping any
way I can.
