Yes, guile-config link returns

  -L/usr/local/lib -lguile -ldl -lsocket -lnsl -lm  

It's gnucash's configure which adds "-lreadline" 

  # If readline exists, just assume that guile needs it.  It probably does.
  AC_CHECK_LIB(readline, readline)

but without checking for any dependencies of libreadline itself.
