My plan is to make a virgin installation of Gnucash on my wife’s Windows 10 laptop (which will never actually be used for GNC work) copy BookA.gnucash across, and then edit saved-reports-2.8 to include one of the BookA-specific custom reports. If I get away with that, I’ll copy all my BookA-specific custom reports, and check them out. Thinking about my 11-year learning-curve for GNC, I also have to think about the possibility of exporting GNC books in a form that could be imported by one of the commercial bookkeeping programs so that my successor would hit the ground running with familiar software. (Shocking disloyalty, I realise, but we have to be pragmatic about such things!).
