Both are HP laptops though one is an i5 and the other is an i7. One
significant difference between them would be that the i5 is on the list of
chips which Microsoft supports for Windows 11 (this is the one where the
installation works) and the i7 is not supported for Windows 11 but I have
installed it regardless of this and have yet to encounter any other problem
caused by this. I am admin on both machines, They are both connected to the
wifi network but neither accesses program files directory via the network.

I have a third desktop machine which is also on the list of Windows 11
supported chips and I could install gnucash there to see if this is
successful.
