I don't think of this behavior as a bug but it is easy to reproduce.
For example, with Show hidden accounts unchecked, on the Accounts page,
use Find Account to Jump To a hidden account. The hidden account will
remain "visible" on the Accounts page apparently unaffected by
subsequent toggling of the accounts Hidden attribute or Show hidden
accounts until Accounts page is regenerated.

Glad to hear you got it to behave, but though a minor annoyance, I'd
still call that a bug. However, trying to trigger it again might be
chasing a ghost.
Please do tell though if you see it happen again!

An update here. I still don't know WHY the problem happened with this
one particular account; but I have FIXED it. The fix was really
simple too. The one thing with all my troubleshooting that I didn't
try was to simply save my GnuCash data file and exit the program.
Once I exited and then re-opened the data file, the problem was gone.
The Hidden checkbox was working again for this account the way it was
supposed to work. I still don't know what triggered or caused the
problem; but I just wanted to let you guys know how easy it was to fix
it. Live and learn.
