There is at least one scenario that might appear to be very similar to this. That would be if there were two different brokerage accounts holding the same security. The brokerage accounts should have different names in that case, but they might be similar in some cases, especially if they are both with the same broker, maybe for different family members. Another possibility might be if the user is intentionally following a different rotation sequence than fifo, which is the only sequence that GnuCash's trading accounts druid can accommodate. In that case, I am not sure how a user forces the non-standard sequence to be followed, since I don't use the druid in that way.
