I had both: the same security in two different Namespaces the same security in two different Trading sub-accounts.
I had several securities in the wrong Namespace. I had several securities in the wrong Trading sub-account. I also had lots of Price history for securities I no longer own (or care about). I also had some securities that I own, but was not getting price history. I have cleaned all that up. Having the read-only SQL database made it easier to find the errors. The fixing of errors was done in GnuCash against the XML file. My compressed XML file has gone from 4.7 Meg down to 3.4 Meg.
