Thanks for the reply, Adrien. I think upgrading at least one Ubuntu LTS version will get me into GnCash 5.x, so I should be good there. If it turns out that I need to get a later version of GnuCash from there, I may try doing a build from source. But I will need to do a clean setup for that (I should probably do that anyway - I have way too much "clutter" in this install)....
