Louise is running into a known problem with NVidia video cards under Linux, 
which that command line argument addresses. If you don't have the particular 
video card, you won't get the problem. Past users have created a shortcut that 
calls GnuCash with that parameter. I do not know whether there have been fixes 
in Linux to address the problem.
