On Ubuntu this is in the /home/{user}/.bashrc file.

You should be able to set this in the bash env setup that runs when you first log in.  Then you can fire up GnC per your normal method and things should be fine.

    I am running gnucash for personal home accounts.

    I am using Linux Mint 22.3

    Today I tried to create a transaction report, and the link to go to
    options did nothing. The mouse pointer did not even change shape.

    I looked this up on the internet and found that I needed to run
    gnucash
    from the terminal as follows for the report creation to work:

    WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 gnucash

    This did work but is obviously not the best scenario going forward.

    Is there anything within gnucash to fix this? Is this a Linux
    thing that
    needs to changed. Do I have to convert to flatpak?

    Any help would be appreciated.
