Yes, GNU Go sometimes makes moves that are just as
bad as this when the owl code misfires. But on the
whole this B doesn't seem to play as positively as
usual from Many Faces. It seems to have a different
style than I expect. Does it have a version number?

I guess I could run another set of games like that, but no, we do not have that now.

And are you by any chance using the fuseki db patches I posted back in
November / December? It's not been added, I believe due to concerns about
how much disk space it will occupy, but the additional variability should
be particularly important for running lots of games for testing and
statistics. For me, this was in fact the main point of the new db.

GNU Go was just the release version 3.6 with no patches.
