win32 tar - no rewind: help neededI have looked at the latest cygwin port of tar, did a diff with the original sources, but I didn't find any differences with respect to the rewinding of tapes. I'll try to look more thoroughly into this.

However I am being fustrated by the no-rewind option that tar defaults to. As I understand it, tar for unix does not control the automatic rewinding of the tape drive, that is done by have two different device drivers, a no-rewind and a rewind one. However windows doesn't have no rewind device drivers so when I execute many such tar rf \\tape0 myfile commands in a row, I keep getting rewound to the beginning of the tape. I have searched around quite a lot - I believe the tar port provided with cygwin has a solution to this but i want to use a native port.
