Thank you fo this. There is one problem - the update-links.bat script
copies some DLLs, notably libintl-2.dll to libintl.dll and
libiconv2.dll to libiconv.dll.

I don't know what (if any) reason there is for the libiconv copy, but
the libintl copy is *bad*. It is needed to fix breakage in a2ps,
which still depends on libintl.dll (in spite of its documentation
saying differently - I have raised a bug report for this) but the
copy BREAKS other programs which need the old libintl.dll - my
specific issue is with Vim.

I'd suggest at least removing these two copies (there are enough
problems with the API changes in libintl and libiconv without making
them worse!!!) and probably even making the update-links step
optional - I'm not really clear why I'd want any of it...
