It's simple and easy: just put the package in the form bin / include / lib / ... / src (derived from DJGPP, http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/). For auto-packages, this can be done by a "make install" in a separate directory. The zip package and the setup program are then created by shell scripts.

I didn't say anthing like that. I just wante to give some compatibility
patches to you. This doesn't affect binary packages at all! Just your
source packages would need to be "rebuild".

Update: I just found a way to compile the Makefile-only zlib without
having to touch or patch its Makefile. Thus, I currently don't see any
need to patch your source packages. So forget what I said.

The other questions still remain: How are you organzed? Who creates
what packages? Which work is done by hand, which is done automatically?
What exactly do I have to do to integrate a new package into your
sources/installer system?

Is that all documented somewhere? Your homepage gnuwin32.sf.net just
describes what a *user* has to do to compile your sources or install
your binaries.
