This is not the first time that India and the US inspired each other to promote a paradigm shift in their histories. Let us not forget that Mahatma Gandhi was inspired by the writings of Henry David Thoreau, and Martin Luther King was inspired by the methods of Mahatma Gandhi.

We are witnessing a historical change in the political landscape here in the US. Two women were elected Governor of a State, and a Muslim was elected Mayor of New York City.
In his victory speech, Zohran Mamdani, the Mayor elect of New York City, a member of the Democratic Party and a self-described socialist, quoted Jawaharlal Nehru. He referenced Nehru’s famous “Tryst with Destiny” speech, stating:

"A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance."

This quote emphasized the significance of his victory and the change it represents to New York City.
