Just to add - Zohran Mamdani also has Ugandan roots - he was born in Kampala.
Plus his dad Mahmood Mamdani is a well-known Ugandan writer, and a politically
radical one at that.
Zohran, radical as he is, exudes joy. And this joy allows him to carry a
radical agenda favouring the poor without overly alarming the overall
electorate.

All democracies are based on the Lockean principle that the majority is right.
But a well functioning democracy, as the framers of both US and India
recognized, has to be anchored on other fundamental principles, such as freedom
of speech, separation of powers, an independent judiciary, and a secular State
(i.e., with no established religion). As John Adams, the second President of
the US said, democracies have the capacity to commit suicide. This is because
democracies are like babies. They are messy but beautiful and they require
constant care, vigilance, and attention.

Absolutely right.
It is nauseating to see the heavy mixture of religion in Goa and India

Religion has done nothing for either Goa or India, while on the contrary
corrupting them.

Of course this is a historical change, in contemporary terms, if we take in

by Trump, who fanatically hurried to put the Mamdani's possible election
classifying it terms of "Communism or good sense" and b) the policy and the
Gaza disaster, fostered by the American policy, the chauvinist, religious
orthodoxy followed by the Israeli Government.. To a certain extent, Mamdani's
election should help us view Indian political assets in general, and the one
concerning the State of Goa in particular. Albeit the religious majority in Goa
being Hindu, from my point of view, in Goa one must have an areligeus (not,
anti-religious or atheist) perspective of dealing with politics. Only then
will Nehru 's quote be applied to Goa in particular and the Indian Union in
general.

We are witnessing a historical change in the political landscape here in the
US. Two women were elected Governor of a State, and a Muslim was elected Mayor
of New York City.
In his victory speech, Zohran Mamdani, the Mayor elect of New York City, a
member of the Democratic Party and a self-described socialist, quoted
Jawaharlal Nehru. He referenced Nehru’s famous “Tryst with Destiny” speech,
stating:

"A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the
old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long
suppressed, finds utterance."

This quote emphasized the significance of his victory and the change it
represents to New York City.
