Hello Santosh,

SH. Venantius Pinto, sorry I do not see your point here.

VP. I see.

SH. Can A. Veronica know from personal experience that Krishna
Menon
invaded Goa because he wanted to provide employment for
unemployed
"Malyalis"?

VP. My note above to A. Veronica was to exhort him, though in
gentle terms
to answer exactly the questiom that you have posed to me.
Hopefully we will both have our answer.

SH. Does personal experience with some number of "Malyalis"
justify
stereotyping all "Malyalis"?

VP. Needless to say, but since you ask-it absolutely does not
justify typecasting all Malyalis (Keralites)
or for that matter any grouping for the personal experiences one
might have encountered while
interacting with a few of any said group.

SH. What do you mean by "the other label of bigotry would not
apply since
it is the "unreasoned attachement" to ones beliefs"? Do you
think
these beliefs are supported by reason? Can they be justified?

VP. Bigotry as I understand, is when one maintains beliefs or
notions devoid of reason,
but a stubborn singular-mided and intolerant desire to propound,
and propogate those beliefs. These opinions are usually rooted
in notions of class, race, ethnicity, gender and sexuality.
What I am saying here to A. Veronica is simply that if he could
express himself clearly
and truthfully then he would have answered to your message
wherby he has come across
as indulging in "innuendo, distortion and fabrication". All
three of those labels together express bigotry.

Hopefully, this time around I am coming across a bit more
cogently.
