<<Where the theory of Menon taking Goa to provide jobs for Malayalis

I too never ever heard the above mentioned theory in connection with the
'Liberation of Goa' (Goans in living in Portugal may call as 'Invasion of
Goa').

The fact is, people from Kerela took mass employement in Goa soon after
liberation, particularly Engineers and Nurses. In fact, they had a wonderful
system of creating job vacancies in Goa Government Administration to employ
people from Kerela directly or indirectly. This is my experience.

Those employeees from Kerela (now lot of them retired) presently resides
with their families permanently in Goa. Nowadays, they appear more Goans (as
they speak fluent Konkani, particularly their children who are born and
brought up in Goa) then the native Goans living abroad.

Now, if we apply the principles of 'Reverse Engineering' the above mentioned
theory may appear to be correct.

I sometimes wonder where A.V. gets his facts from or if he has read enough
of literation on India's liberation.
Most historians agree that Krishna Menon wanted to take over Goa because of
the forthcoming elections. He was contesting from North Bombay against a
stalwart such as Acharya Kirpalani.
It was one of the most watched fight. Menon persuaded Nehru to take the
action. It has noted that Nehru wasn't in favour of taking Goa by force.
Where the theory of Menon taking Goa to provide jobs for Malayalis
originated, I am not sure. This is the first time I have heard it, but I
hope it will be for the last time.
There are other things associated with Goa liberation, but it not be
neccessary right now. It's important to debunk theories such as those
propagated by AV.
