According to available information, the girl was walking down the road near Government quarters at St. Inez when she was accosted by a male pedestrian. The man briefly held her, from behind and let her go before fleeing the scene.
Though no complaint has been registered at the time of this going to the press, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Karnal Singh, IPS and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muktesh Chander, IPS, visited the city police station and met with the victim and her family.
