St. Francis Xavier & Goa Inquisition

Inquisition was a weapon of that time to protect the faith of the
Christians. If there were abuses of power, we cannot blame St. Francis
Xavier.

Please explain the connection, if any, between St. Francis Xavier and
the Inquisition in Goa.
My reading (and our book) states that the Inquisition arrived in Goa
eight years AFTER Fr. Francis Xavier DIED. And, Fr. Francis Xavier left
Goa (practical/ evangelization purposes) many years before he died.
