Dear Cip, "Konknni" can be both, a noun and an adjective. In the first sentence - "Konknni xikunk zai, ulounk zai" - it stands as a noun, while in the second - "Konknni bhas xikunk zai, ulounk zai" - it is an adjective [feminine gender of the adjective "konknno (masc.) / konknni (fem.) / konknnem (neut.)"], so both the above quoted sentences are correct. In "amchi bhas" there is no "konkani" but only "konknni", which was transformed into "konkani" in English and "concani" in Portuguese. Re "Konknni pustok", as "pustok" is a noun in the neuter gender and "konknni" is either a noun in the feminine or an adjective also in feminine form, in my opinion there is a word which is omitted and must be understood in that "konknni pustok" expression, namely, either "konknni (bhashen) pustok" or "konknni (bhashechem) pustok".
