Dear all, If I didn't copy my earlier post to TSKK (which Dr. Teotonio R. de Souza graciously did, by including it in his reply), it was because I didn't receive any feedback from them regarding my query about whether "Konkani Bhasha Mandal" was correctly written. I am gladly including TSKK now in the list of addressees of the present post. As "language" is "bhas" in Konkani, IMO the root-form is not "bhaxa" but "bhas" and therefore I had said in my previous post that - again IMO - the name of the association, irrespective of the script in which it is written, should be (or have been) "Konknni Bhas Monddoll" or "Konknni Bhaxechem Monddoll". - Besides, I also didn't understand the "when one does not add genitive ending twice to adjective and noun qualified by it" bit. (2) As for "Hanv moje khas maincho put" or "Hanv moje khaxa maincho put", I must say that (a) I did not find "khas" in any dictionary; (b) Crescencio Monteiro's Konkani-Portuguese-English dictionary gives "khaxa" as meaning "proprio" (Port.) and "personal" (Eng); (c) "Khaxa" is also given in Dalgado's Portuguese-Konkani dictionary as one of the meanings of "proprio" and, in his Konkani-Portuguese dictionary, as meaning "proprio, genuino, puro, verdadeiro, real, pessoal, peculiar"; (d) Nowhere is "khas" or "khaxa" registered as meaning "really", which in Konkani is, for instance, "khorench" and "khoreponnim"; (e) In The Konkani-English dictionary by Suresh J tBorkar, Mukesh P Thali and Damodar K Ghanekar one finds the words "khas" = "special, unique" and "khasa" = especially, exclusively".
