Cecil Pinto: As a non-practicing Catholic and an infrequent church goer I will not comment. But I will see the movie, when it is released in cinemas, purely to enjoy a good movie. I don't think any movie can deeply affect one's religious beliefs......
This is the crux. A Parish Hall, in my opinion, is far different from a Church. I would think that the Church premises proper are rather sacred and should not be used for showing commercial movies. Gilbert's Response: Atam in amchem Goyem, "non-practicing Catholic and an infrequent church-goer" is telling the padvigar ani Bishooop what to do in the church and how "the Church premises proper are rather sacred and should not be used for showing 'The Passion' (commercial movies)". Saiba bogos! What's Goa caaming to? :=)) Is this also because of the gorment? :=)) In New York this is called chutzpah! I am sure my aunt in Aldona can provide some choice Konkani words for amcho Aldonkar in translating the above. :=)) This may explain why you could not take your sincere distress to the Aldona Padvigar ani Goencho Bishop. You have not seen "The Passion" or perhaps you are carried away at the discussion of "the movie" that you have stated that you are going to watch the movie "purely to enjoy a good movie." Hope after you have seen 'The Passion', you do not enjoy the movie. If one does, then one has to seriously question 'their Christian roots'.
