Subject: Goan chutzpah Helga do Rosario Gomes: Chutzpah is used all over the world Gilbert- not only in New York!!! And what's with this latest trend started by some goanetters of inserting Konkani words (sometimes the sentence doesn't even make sense) like the Stardust Cats! Is it some kind of humor that I am missing? Why not just write in Konkani?
Hi Helga: Thanks for reading my post. I have not read a post from you in a long time. Wunderba! Chutzpah is a Hebrew word and is not widely used IN America. What would the Konkani translation / equivalent be of this word? It will help the next time I write (in Konkani). What made you think there was humor in my "Oh so serious post"? Perhaps I follow the admonition from the GoaNet bosses to 'keep it light'. Some GoaNetters may like to use some Konkani words, and to them that may be better than simply English words. And others like to use high falutent English words (like ' Stardust Cats'). To each his own. :=)) Regards, Gilbert ########################################################################## # Send submissions for Goanet to [EMAIL PROTECTED] # # PLEASE remember to stay on-topic (related to Goa), and avoid top-posts # # More details on Goanet at http://joingoanet.shorturl.com/ # # Please keep your discussion/tone polite, to reflect respect to others # ##########################################################################
