Film Division, India's monopoly film-maker of non-commercial films for a long times (till perhaps the 'eighties, when cheaper technology made it possible for independent film-makers to come of their own) has some interesting archival footage.
At IFFI in Goa, they're talking about putting on CD some (not all) of their 8000-strong film archive. To check some of the available films, visit http://www.filmsdivision.org
Their catalogue shows some interesting films of the past, pertaining to Goa. Just thought these might be of interest to some, specially since the cost of VCDs they're putting out is in a few hundreds (assuming these films *are* available).

* Goa Yesterday and Today B&W, 35 mm-460 mtrs 16mm-184 mtrs 16 mins
* On to Goa Col 35mm-707 mtrs 16mm-282 mtrs 24 mins
Unfortunately, the date of production is not indicated.
BTW, it also is important to archive Goa's song of the past. It would be nice if copyright-expired song can be collated and shared among those interested. Collections available at the All India Radio (and even its predecessor, Radio Goa or Emissora de Goa) should be tapped and preserved, lest this cultural legacy is lost.
One understands that in the case of the music of Alfred Rose, a new initiative is undertaken to repackage his old music. FC Global Music has put together a cassette titled 'The Very Best Of Alfred Rose' (2003) costing a fairly reasonable Rs 200. It includes 20 songs (including all those ladies Juliana, Leticia, Lovely Esther, Angela, Beatrice...) recorded between 1966 and 1977.
