The Soviets, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Cubans, etc. are just a few examples. In the US the left is infamous for trying to silence their opposition using a guilt-based process they invented called "political correctness".
Second, several people write about Iraq, but I'm just guessing that Gilbert Menezes had me in mind. I would like Gilbert to know that his admonition to Phillip Thomas did not even scratch the surface of "rude". Other than his feeble threats to be rude Gilbert's comments were actually quite harmless and ineffective when compared to some other Goanetters who have used world-class adjectives and adverbs that have impressed even me, who has taken a vow of "non-rudeness" but, like some of our priests, my spirit is weak, and I often fail. Mea maxima culpa to all whom I have offended. You were not the first, and I'm sure you will not be the last. I strongly suggest that Gilbert has a long way to go, and needs to brush up his vocabulary and improve his technique before he challenges some of the masters on Goanet in the field of being rude. And Gilbert, aren't you happy that some 8 million Iraqis turned out to vote on January 30 in defiance of the "very rude" terrorists who had threatened to kill them? What absolute bravery in the face of the highest form of "rudeness"! What a great achievement for freedom and democracy, and for those who gave their lives to make it possible.
