****** Response from: George Pinto <[EMAIL PROTECTED] Ralph & all, In all likelihood, Fr. Prasad Gonsalves is innocent and is now out on bail to clear his name. But I am curious where Indian Catholics are year-round when 150 million Dalits are imprisoned by the system, a prisoner in his/her own country. Where are the protests emails? The protests on the streets? Where is the outrage against Dalit-separate churches in some areas? The silence is deafening and hypocritical. Regards, George ****** JC response I agree entirely with George Pinto. Until Catholics are willing to speak out in uniformity against ALL injustice, their voice against a particular injustice will be only of limited value. We must speak out against injustice - even if it means criticising our own selves. Surely, the injustice has to be more than just perceived injustice...but speak out we must. The absence of public protest by Catholics from the US - in the face of child abuse scandal which was perpetrated albeit by a minority of individuals - was striking. jc http://www.colaco.net/3/church-lurch.htm http://www.colaco.net/3/VFTB-SCR.htm
