Jorge asked if there were priest or priest equivalents
in the Moslem, Hindu and Jewish faiths.

I know for a fact that there are female Rabbis in the
Jewish faith. Now the Jewish faith or Judaism has
various groupings or congregations (I dont like to
call them sects) including ultra-orthodox,
Conservative
Reform. Messianic etc. I believe it is the Reform
congregations which are probably the most liberal in
the Jewish tradition that have female Rabbis.

Some day, later rather than sooner, there will be
female priests and priests will once again be allowed
to get married. This will only happen when the
current crop of priests retire or pass on, and the
Catholic church faces a deep crisis. Catholicism and
Christianity, as well as Islam come from the Judaic
tradition of male priesthood, so change is not easy
and will not occur until there is a critical crisis.
