Hi Mario,
A wealthy country like the USA generates hell of a lot of garbage. Yet, it seems strange that the crows there seem to have nothing to crow about. The gun culture there may be putting them off--just a thought!

On another point, I was surprised to hear from you, sometime earlier that, there was no genocide of the indigenous peoples of America by the white rapacious land grabbers. Have you never read about how those people were systematically wiped out as much as possible? Not only was the bullet used but so was smallpox used in gifts of blankets etc. Yes, they were weaker people. Those are precisely the circumstances in which you get most genocides and what genocide is all about.

Yet another time, you said that the Americans gained a pure and pristine land. I'd rather say it was a thoroughly blood-soaked land. Do have a think about this.

Finally, when I discussed Cuba with a number of Cubans in Cuba itself, I did not find, among them, a powerful desire to get out. They were generally happy with the free medical facilities and free education to university level. Sure, they wanted more work and a higher standard of living but did not really relish the form of capitalist slavery they would have to endure in your part of the world. What a shame your Government will not let you get into Cuba to see things for yourself, first hand, instead of you having to learn about it seconhand. And incidentally, I visited the Bay of Pigs and got to know, in great detail, what a trouncing the Americans got from brave Cubans led by outstanding strategists like Che and Fidel. In general, I think the Americans tend not to learn from their mistakes as in Vietnam and Cuba.

Just catching up on some of your past posts.
Regards,
Cornel
PS You do have the intellectual in you on some counts I must admit e.g. caste. However, it is generally accepted that the role of the intellectual is to be a critic of his society. Yet I have not noticed a single iota of this ingredient in you re your chosen homeland of the USA. Are we missing something?
