Last year Anthony's name for State Award was there. Although I'm not in the
selection Committee, I had recomended his name to the Minister for Art &
Culture. However something else happened, political manipulations, and he
was not awarded.
Now Congres Government is ruling and I feel Anthony's contribution must be
recognized by the Government. I shall try to do whatever possible at my end.

We all learn from our mistakes. Whatever happened in the past was behind
closed doors. We now take up and discuss issues publicly on forums; a
public commitment is different from a private one. I am confident Tomazinho
will try his best and help us fulfill our wish. Let us give him a chance
and wait and see what transpires out of his new efforts. I also request
others in Goa, including the President of the Kala Academy, to lend their
support to this matter.
