Co-Ordinator (Admissions) Dept of Management Studies Goa University Taleigao Goa SUB; FEES FOR GRADUATES (OF GOAN ORIGIN) FROM UNIVERSITIES OTHER THAN GOA UNIVERSITY -- MBA COURSE Dear Sirs, We,at South Goa Public Interest Action Group (SGPIAG) a registered NGO based in Margao,Salcete, South Goa District ,with jurisdiction, at present, over the entire South Goa Parliamentary Constituency wish to seek your kind clarification on the undermentioned: The course fee for Management studies viz MBA 2006-2008 is listed on your webpage as Rs.57.000 for Graduates from Goa University and Rs.96,000 for those from other Universities Assuming that a student of Goan origin pursues post XII Standard studies viz graduation through colleges affiliated to Universities from other States in India ---not owing to ones own volition but merely because the subjects opted for at First/Second/Third year of graduation were not available in Colleges under Goa University; -----then, is it fair to charge such students of Goa origin higher fees viz Rs 96,000 merely because they graduated from Universities other than from Goa University? Similarly children of NRI of Goan origin who are compelled to study abroad because of either or both of their parents are NRI's are required to pay higher fees. A similar distinction made to students of Goan origin from colleges affiliated to Universities other than Goa University need to pay higher fees for hostel etc This in our humble opinion is a gross injustice to youth of Goan origin & needs to be rectified forthwith. How could the youth of Goan origin be denied facilities by the Goa Government and yet made to pay higher fees?
