As to what I know of this subject, I have heard it being said that if you
put crabs in a box, an open one, than any crab trying to climb up is pulled
down by the other carb and so on. Hence inspite of the box being open, no
crab can escape.
The reason this phrase used may signify, No Goan wants other Goans to move
up the ladder? Just my thought.
