------------------------------------------------------- CONVENTION OF THE GOAN DIASPORA FROM GOA INTO THE WORLD Lisbon, Portugal June 15-17, 2007 Details at: http://www.goacom.org/casa-de-goa/noticias.html -------------------------------------------------------
I had no plans to comment on this thread until I saw this: On Fri May 11 11:48:52 PDT 2007, Santosh Helekar wrote: > Regarding the other bogus talking point that is making > the rounds in ideological campaigns such as the above, > namely the paper by Christopher Essex, Ross McKitrick, > and Bjarne Andresen, questioning the mathematical > definition of a global temperature RESPONSE: Santosh, its quite likely that you are not aware that Mario maintains an offline list (of Goanetters) that he peppers with links to articles that cater to his ideological bent. And on March 15/07 when he had circulated the same piece of news above, I had laughed....nay...scoffed at him then for having to rely on a specialist in thermodynamics (Andresen) and a mathematician (Essex) to propagate his own deny-climate-change philosophy. At the time, Sunith Velho indicated that "excerpts from that report directly contradicted Mario's propaganda." But I see, Mario is unabashedly still using the newsclip to promote his philosophy that is driven by his political ideology. Query/simplified analogy for Mario: If one visits your family doctor with a stomach ache, would the doctor begin treating you for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma right away or would (s)he use the "...most likely caused..." methodology above in 'troubleshooting' your ailment? To end this.....for a minute, lets assume that you have provided the links to papers by "REAL scientist" from high profile institutions, as you claim...and while their papers are accurate, everybody else is not. What, in your opinion, should the citizens and governments of our world do wrt melting ice-caps, disappearing glaciers from Patagonia to the Pyrenees and dramatic changes to river systems (like flooding) in every continent? - Bosco T.O, CA
