RESPONSE: The headline was by the originators ( oHERALDo). The most glarring of all was the honesty question:- Honesty Matanhy Saldhana 29% Harish Zantye 16% i.e. the most honest Politician could only garner an unrespectable margin of 29%, in People's opinion. This is indeed a sad indictment of the state of affairs in the State; the worst was Harish Zantye 16%. On the development Front the best effort was by Monserrate, the worst by Luizinho Faleiro; these figures were compiled by oHERALDo. :- Development in Const. Babush Monserrate 55% Luizinho Faleiro 20%. I Believe both the gentlemen you refer to are easily worth 4,000 crore ! I also believe that Monserrate was already a wealthy gentleman before he took up Politics; apparently made his money by owning large tracts of land. I don't know how Luizinho Faleiro made his money; the papers have not been kind to him - suggesting, for instance that Zug Island was bought for a pittance and then converted for development. If this is anything to go by then there are serious questions to ask the Congress Party. The back door entry to become an MLA by Vishwajit Rane, which by all accounts seems to have been engineered to perfection. Rightly Monserrate is questioning why his wife wasn't afforded the same back door treatment ! The sale of Goans by Mauvin Godinho (Backing a migrant at the expense of Goans). It is true that Goans will soon become a minority and be dictated to by outsiders - our Goans in Goa have only themselves to blame; I suppose they will continue in the same vein and give their support, to whoever can shaft them right and proper ! They will lay back and enjoy it ? -- DEV BOREM KORUM. Gabe Menezes.
