Read today about FIR against one Desai for spreading "false news" about Parrikar's health on a WhatsApp group. Wonder what will be the reaction if the news of Parrikar's health comes true? I mean that Parrikar is or was suffering from enhanced disease of his pancreas? In the present situation in India, the people don't believe in government press releases. The people believe that the govt. doesn't always tell the truth. Hence, the rumour mill keeps churning out news that either may be true or false. Taking into consideration that the news is false, it hasn't affected Parrikar's health. Those who want to believe the govt or the hospital will do so, no matter what some posters on WhatsApp or FB say. By the govt. action, democracy is further hurt. We know how the central govt works, and how it has affected democratic institutions in India. As for Goa, political happenings have also affected democracy.
