Narrow win for Candolim SC
Pundalik Naik scored an 80th minute match-winner for Candolim Sports Club as they registered a nervy 1-0 win over Sinquerim Sports Club in the Goa Football Association Second Division League match played at Poriat ground, on Monday. The first half witnessed hardly any actions as both the teams failed to get on the score sheet. Sinquerim’s Rupesh Naik was cautioned for tripping an opponents in the first session. That was the only action in the first 45 minutes. In the second half, both teams came with promising moves but just couldn’t get the final act done. Finally with 10 minutes left on the clock Pundalik Naik came with a fine shot from the box which had no answer from the rival keeper, which then proved to be the ultimate match deciding goal. Candolim’s Llyod Rebelo went into the referee’s books for interrupting a promising move by the Sinquerim strikers in the dying minutes of the game.

Kevnem Sports Club claw back to beat St Mathew’s Azossim
A strong second half performance helped Kevnem Sports Club come from behind and register a 2-1 win against St Mathew’s Sports Club Azossim in the Goa Football Association Third Division League match played at Taleigao ground, on Monday. St Mathew’s SC Azossim enjoyed better share of possession in the first session and took the lead in the 23rd minute through Francisco D’Costa. St Mathew’s Selvino Gonsalves was cautioned by the referee in the first session for his reckless tackle on an opponent player. Azossim led 1-0 at the break.
The second half saw plenty of drama and actions and also two expulsions.
Kevnem, who earlier had a quiet first half came strongly in the second session creating chances upfront with their midfield supporting their strike force with constant deliveries. Kevnem made it all square at the hour mark through Tejnath Khandolkar. With the match evenly contested, it turned out pretty physical as the tackles started flying in from either sides. Asner Alfonso was the second for Azossim to be cautioned for his reckless tackle before Brenson Miranda was also flashed yellow by the referee who had a tough day on the field. In the 85th minute Jaysuarya K was flashed a straight red before Kevnem took the lead through Bhanudas Gawas. Azossim frustrations were clearly visible as they were further reduced to 9 men when Selvino received his second yellow for another harsh tackle compelling the referee to send him off the pitch.

Vasco SC ease past Calangute Association
Henry Ezeh impressed for Vasco Sports Club in their 2-0 win over Calangute Association in the Goa Football Association Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Monday. Henry scored the team’s first goal and they set up the second for Beneston Barretto in the dying minutes of the game to earn the vital three points in the game. The Port Towners took the field keeping an eye on the three points as they attacked from the word go. Their first real chance came in the fifth minute when the broke into the Calangute territory and Schubert Pereira set by Henry in the box, and the Nigerian striker showed his prowess in the box as he scored the team’s first goal. Vasco SC dominated the initial stages of the game with the Calangute Association keeper being tested on various occasion. Thanks to the brilliance from S Bugde under the Calangute bar. Vasco SC led 1-0 at the break. Vasco’sDadamayon and Calangute’s Abdul Fall went into the referee’s book in the first session. Post resumption, Calangute Association put up a much better performance but they just couldn’t get past the rival defence. The second goal looked out of the way as neither sides were able to keep their composure infront of the rival goal as Henry, Aman all saw their efforts being narrowly missed.Vasco finally doubled the account when goalscorer Henry turned provider as he set up Beneston, who made no mistake to hit the ball at the back of Calangute net, 2-0. Vasco’s Neville Albuquerque and Calangute’s Domnic Fernandes were flashed yellow cards for rough play.
