Hei Folks, Why is paedophilia so difficult a question to answer? It is not. Paedophilia is a crime against society. Crime is not condoned.
What society do we know of, that condones paedophilia? I know of no primitive or advanced society that does. It is a crime against society and is punishable by the laws in that society. It is also a crime for aiding and abetting to a crime if you please. Does it matter if the perpetrator is an archbishop or cardinal, farm hand or monarch? Not a bit. No one is above the law. Laws are there to protect society. Are we not mixing religion with a crime against society? In the recent case the fact that a member of the clergy committed a crime is neither here or there. There is no doubt that the public have a right to expect a higher standard of morality from the clergy and institutions that are custodians of the Society. However, you would not expect the The Institution of Engineers to come out with a statement condoning paedophilia because one of their members was guilty of the crime now would you? Paedophilia is not condoned by people in society. Keeping silent may be because people do not want to wash their dirty linen in public or it is too embarrassing or that it does not relate to them directly. Perhaps, there are several more reasons why people may remain silent, the least likely of which is that they condone it. No more of Bhandare's chump logic or axioms please. lol . Cheers
