Hats off to every person who has had the benefit of an

RESPONSE: So you are contradicting you're earlier statement?
To the best of my knowledge Catholic schools in
India offer an outstanding secular education.
RESPONSE: I have asked earlier and I ask again......what is a secular
education?
I am against all and any education that is based on
faith or tinged even slightly with the nuances of
faith. I have been as vocal about Muslim madrases as
I am about faith-based schools of any Christian
denomination.
RESPONSE: You started this thread on Catholic education / 'Catholic-managed
schools'. It matters diddly-squat what you've said re 'Madrases'. Don't
muddle it all up now??
There is not need for an "education" to be imparted
about God or what his plans are, his motives or his
"word" is. If one wants to discover their
spirituality, then they should do so where they might
find it; in the bowels of their anguish as they see a
child die, in the utter despair and loss of hope in
war, in the acoustic wonderment of a concert hall, the
smell of an ocean, in the museum halls of
impressionist paintings, not in the stifling
indoctrination of a classroom.
RESPONSE: So this is what you recommend for kids?? Rich!!!
I don't want nuns or priests or mullahs or botts
telling generations and generations of children what
God is all about.
RESPONSE: When you say "I".......you are alluding to something
personal.....so why not keep it that way - personal!!
Seeing what the world has come too,
they haven't done a good job of it and I feel it is my
moral duty to change that position if I can, even if
? it is in the minutest of ways.
RESPONSE: You are probably right.....but consider if the 'nuns or priests or
mullahs or botts' did not do what they have done, the world could have been
even more distasteful (in your eyes). We will never know, will we.
By no means will I stifle the innate spirituality of
my child, but I won't hamper it either with irrational
beliefs.
RESPONSE: What you do for your child is your business....I don't think we
need to hear about it!!
Shalom!! Happy Hanukah!!
