Apolitical - a Related Adverb -- as was defined in the net was running with 13 different terms. These 13 terms (a to m) were: a) not political b) of no political significance c) not involved in politics d) not interested in politics e) not connected with politics f) not connected to any political party g) not concerned with politics h) not involved in political affairs i) having an aversion to politics j) politically neutral k) having no relation to politics l) not concerned with political matters m) politically neutral.
I was trying to assimilate these terms in my thinking about the word - Apolitical. While I was doing so, I read a confusing bouncer, although I am used to these bouncers in the net, from FN's on his own version of - Apolitical. FN, while explaining his version, FN preferred to append only few terms along with his explanation, as was originally used in the net to define the term - Apolitical, and preferred to truncate the terms to only a to f i.e. FN retained original 6 and decisively preferred to hide other 7 terms only to take advantage or rather strengthen his own interpretation of the term - Apolitical (Goanet members can check on this aspect to what I say). In doing so FN writes - The issue is not whether a group is - political - or not, but whether it toes a party-line or not. I do not see how any movement which takes a strong stance on political issues can be apolitical. But it could, and should, be non-party. That is, its stances should not be manipulated by the electoral or other interests of one or the other political party. This is essential for any people's movement wanting to retain its credibility. In FN's explanation, although he truncated other terms, he appears to be diverting attention of Goanetters from the word - Apolitical - to - People's Movement - when the point in question is - Apolitical. If FN really wants to share his rich knowledge and educate the net members I would request FN to restrict to the point under discussion and don't try to divert Goanet members attention to something else other than the point in question. FN could you please rephrase your explanation - Goanet are awaiting for definition of Apolitical. In doing so please remember that your definition must trash out all the 13 terms as was originally defined in the net and be specific. Best regards, Dr. U. G. Barad
