However, the lawlessness that I refer to is the lawlessness of the administration itself. In the SEZ case, they have broken every rule in the book while allocating the land. Citizens have filed an FIR with proof involving minutes of the meetings, copies of rules and regulataions etc. against the relevant authorities . When we asked the then DIG Ujjwal Mishra about the status of the registration of the FIR, he had no answer, except that they were looking into it. And four months down the line, presumably, with all the manpower at their disposal, they are still looking into it. Citizens, having to cope with their jobs and other aspects of their lives, still took time to put together and present the whole case to the police, but the police apparently, have a problem in performing their duty. Manohar Parrikar has thrice threatened to file an FIR against the authorities on this issue. Till today, he has not moved in this direction, but fifty ordinary citizens, stuck out their necks and did what was required to save Goa's land from falling into the hands of real estate developers masquerading as SEZ developers.
Response : Is this the same Diana who wrote a flowery tribute to Digukaka, our insufferable Chief Minister? Does she now believe, like me, that the Congress government is trying to deceive Goan people by promising to scrap regional plan, SEZ while continuing the sordid land scams in a clandestine manner or does she still believe this man Congress had to hire from BJP to keep six or Seven Ex-Congress CMs away from the CM's chair, is as honest and upright as some gullible Goans believe he is? Will she now write another letter to the Goan daily where she published that tribute to Digu and expose him for what he is - a shameless politician who will do anything and say anything to keep his chair.
