I submit that the communal slant was given for the first time to the exchange between Rajan and me by the above statement. No such slant was intended by me or Rajan, nor was it apparent in my response, which was referring to his inappropriate use of the pronoun "we". Which community is it that would support Rajan in his idiosyncratic insistence that the only way for someone to attest to the knowledge of a well-published professional scholar and researcher is to interrogate him on a one-one-one basis?
