Which Goan's favorite meal is not prawn curry rice. But sadly Joe, that meal definitely does not find favor with me.
My rice would be the thick coarse brown variety (not the whiter than white basmati grain shown). My curry would be much less thick, with a definte hint of coconut (not the butter chicken masala north indian style curry shown). My prawns would be distinctly shaped fresh prawns with heads (not some aggregate clumped together to camouflage separate pieces broken off probably due to staleness). Ah the days of real Goan cooking from the hands of Goan women happily bowed and bent over a wood fire rather than a dish served in a restaurant and cooked by Biharis, Oriyas or who knows which other specimens of Indiankind.
