Early Bird Discount Registration closes March 31, 2008 http://2008goanconvention.com/registration.html --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Dr.U.G.Barad, I thank you for advising me to avoid discussing issues about Hinduism. You say that I wrote "after quite some time", as I only stated it, but the reason was that "you were engrossed in them", as you are till today. But you wrote strangely: "for he was ENGROSSED with recent development in Goa!". You should know that there will be issues in every religion. About Hinduism, as I indicated once, there are difficulties to define Hinduism itself. As you rightly say, it is "so vast that it will take years to grasp and understand fully", precisely because there are different trends which you yourself will not know. We can always speak about religions from the comparative study. I am not specialized in Hinduism, but it does not mean that we cannot discuss it at all. There are also Christian authors who have gone deep into the study of Hindu religion (religious Hinduism) and Hindu philosophy (Indology) and know better than you do. <<<Though I say you possess mastery in > Christianity I find it amusing to see your own community rubbishes your > philosophy with exchange of responses. **People who have not studied Christian Theology may have problems on some issues, as you may have read. It does not mean that "your (my) own community rubbishes your (mine) philosophy (?) with exchange of responses". Besides, there can be different opinions about the way people live. Discussions about the Hindu way of life would be endless... <<< Fr. Ivo, with due respect to you and your sincerity I would only request you > to first try to set your house in order which I believe is your prime > responsibility! ***I do not know what you mean. I have not tried to "set in order" but only to answer questions on specific issues, which came up or have been addressed to me. I am not forcing you to discuss them. Some issues of casteism came up. There were different responses. One can always respond in a pluralistic society... Regards. Fr.Ivo
