Santosh: In the post appended below it is claimed that an article by Julio Ribeiro has the title: "The BJP's slander campaign did not deter Karkare from his dharma". It is also claimed that it was published in the Times of India. However, the weblink provided at the end of the post is to a discussion group called www.faithfreedom.org If one locates the article by Julio Ribeiro in the discussion threads there, one finds that the real title of the article is "The Sad End Of Hemant Karkare". Please see: http://www.faithfreedom.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1167697&sid=a2ac998cc9a6a2badbdeaf0932c34fa5 In addition, if you compare the text provided on Goanet with that at the above link, you find that some extraneous paragraphs have been inserted, and some words have been replaced by other words. One wonders if Mr. Julio Ribeiro is aware of these changes to the title and text of his article.
Response: Of late I notice that for a person claiming to possess scientific temper, Santosh has developed a habit of rushing to conclusions without getting his basics right. May I kindly request him to refer to Pg 7 of the Bombay edition of Times of India dt 28.11.2008. I can have it scanned and emailed to him if he desires. The article in the e-paper edition is given in the link below. http://epaper.timesofindia.com/Daily/skins/TOI/navigator.asp?Daily=TOIM&login=default I have emailed him a copy of the article separately. Though I do not owe Santosh any explanation, out of courtesy,* *I wish to inform Santosh that after reading the article in the newspaper, I tried to find the link on the internet. However, I just could not find it. So I did a google search with various word combinations and found a similar article under a different heading under the link www.faithdom.org. I copied the article with the intention of comparing it with the article in the ToI and saved the link for reference. However, as I found the exercise too time consuming, I again did several google searches, till I was fortunate to find the article in the e-paper of ToI. I deleted the article from Faith Freedom from my mail, but inadvertently, the link remained. I trust I have set your mind at rest. Regards, Marshall
