Samir's post, if read literally, will be a kind of an oxymoron, for being an atheist he does not really believe in God. So it would be foolish of him if he were to really mean that "something that does not exist" sucks.
What I presume he means, and this is in consistency with what he has always said, is that the concept of God has brought a lot of misery and is responsible for a lot of destruction to humankind and it is this religious concept that sucks. Not Jesus or Ganesha or any other God literally! Samir's thoughts are not too fundamentally different from those of some extreme religious believers, who too believe that God sucks.
