Marshall, I concede that the BJP is blatant. But are you suggesting
the Congress doesn't play such games? (And we have various parties,
including the Congress, and rarely the BJP with its Christmas Carols
CD, playing the religiosity game for the minorities too... which can
be less-dangerous sometimes and more-dangerous at other times.)
It's all a package deal, and to me it is part of one problem. Of
course, the degree varies. Some have a very carefully-articulated
three-generations ideology of hate, and for others it's rank
opportunism. FN
